JASON HENDRIK HANSMA

Jason Hendrik Hansma (1988, Lahore [Pakistan]) lives and works in Rotterdam (Netherlands).

Jason Hendrik Hansma studied at the Piet Zwart Institute in Rotterdam and at the Jan van Eyck Academy in Maastricht. Using a variety of media such as video, objects, text, and photography, he explores our relation to time, history and nature, and the way we try to grasp these constantly changing phenomena. Comprising a host of elements, his installations are like networks of thoughts or conversations between different protagonists.

Of late his performances, lectures, and projections have been given at the Rupert contemporary art space in Vilnius, at Tent (Rotterdam), at the Irmavep Club (Paris), at the Centre International d’Art et du Paysage, l’Île de Vassivière (France), at the Center For Contemporary Art Futura (Prague), at the Buitenplaats Kasteel (Wielder), at De Appel (Amsterdam) and at the Stiftung Ludwig für Internationale Kunst (Aachen).

Jason Hendrik Hansma is supported by the Centrum Beeldende Kunst (Rotterdam).
