LUZIE MEYER

Born in 1990 in Tübingen (Germany). Lives and works in Berlin.

Luzie Meyer plays with the themes and forms of authority, the absurd, sadomasochism, and feminism to express the questions raised by the body in contemporary society, exploring in this way the possibilities and impossibilities that different urban and social contexts offer. If her preferred medium is performance, Meyer also writes poems, makes music, and shoots films in a continuous movement that runs from her own story to her works of art, which suggest a reformulation under the guise of an analysis. For her residency at the Parc Saint Léger, she hopes to devote her time to studying texts by Mina Loy and Gertrude Stein, and set up a sound studio to pursue her investigation of language as a space for experimentation.
